MaCABre 12, “One Hell of a Haunting” lived up to its name! The annual CAB Theatre Halloween tribute featured dancing zombies, a frustrated ax murderer, a scarecrow yearning for a hug, and so much more! With the digital stylings of Jessa J, bringing the backgrounds to life and a cast of a dozen ghouls and goblins, this two-night show ruling was one for the “dark” ages. Edgar Allen Poe is surely turning in his grave after Ben Bromley’s ‘A Telltale Fart” had audience members giggling whole they grossed out and a haunted George Forman grill wrapped up the hilarious QVP, ‘Quality, Value, Possessed’ offering. The laughs continued with “Dancing With the Dead,” “Thursday, the 12th,” “La Class de EspaƱol,” “Scarecrow Laments” and Bat Family Problems,” and a serious tone (and a disgruntled teenage ghost) brought levity in “Instability.” Behind the scenes, director Rhonda Siebecker is already planning a MaCABre 13 surprise! Stay tuned, CAB enthusiasts!
